Accomplishments

Winston Churchill will be remembered for at least a century because of his inspirational speeches and quotes. He will also be greatly remembered for his accomplishments from a military point of view. He helped the United Kingdom win or be successful in many wars by trying new military strategies and taking many risks.

Winston Churchill was a risk taker because he stood up to Prime Minister Chamberlain and was trying to convince him to stop appeasing the Germans into having what they wanted in 1938 and 1939. Chamberlain was just giving Hitler different areas of land because he thought it would prevent war, but of course he was wrong and Winston was right. In 1940, Chamberlain finally resigned and Churchill took his place as Prime Minister.

What Started Churchill on His Road to Success?

One thing that inspired Winston was his father. Churchill loooked up to his father and wanted to live up to his fathers name. His father was a member of Parliament so he pushed his son along the road to a politcal career.

On October 1, 1900, Churchill was elected as a member of parliament. His political career had just begun.

After becoming a member of parliament Winston Churchill began to earn a lot more pay. In those days members of parliament received almost no pay so they had to have other sources of income. As of serving in the Boer War Churchill was in great demand as a speaker.
